I mean, the title basically says it all. You can just click away now. See ya next time! Stay grumpy folks!

Nah, but really, moving totally sucks and that’s coming from someone who only just moved like fifteen minutes away from where he was originally living. I witnessed an interesting phenomenon as the packing progressed where my love for my things took a severe nose dive. You REALLY come to under appreciate your stuff when you have to move it from one place to another.

Like, there’s this teddy bear I gave my wife back when we were dating (appropriately named Beartholomew might I add) that we unearthed as we were packing our stuff. My initial reaction to seeing this stuffed creature who once meant so much to us as a couple during a much simpler and less-poopy-diaper filled part of our lives was nostalgic and touching…and then we had to actually physically move all of our crap!

My wife asked me if I would be sad if she parted with dear sweet Beartholomew which, to her credit, had she asked me a week before, I would have looked at her like a monster for daring to toss our beloved bear friend! He’s a part of the family gosh darn it! Albeit he’s been stuffed into a storage container and left in the shadowy embrace under our bed to forever be sealed into time and darkness, but yeah, yknow, part of the family! You wouldn’t just toss one of our children, would you?!

(I may irrationally get emotionally attached to certain things in retrospect).

But now after keelhauling all of our stuff up and down flights of stairs, all I can think of is “holy crap I do NOT want to ever move this stuff again.”

It’s amazing what you can part with.

But we are moved in to our new home and we are very happy! Its honestly been something I’ve been looking forward to for years and it just seems so surreal to finally be here. My wife has already decorated our new home with lots of cute pictures and holiday decor that makes it feel so warm that I basically never want to leave. I’ve basically evolved into a hobbit.

“Go back to your books and your armchair. Plant your trees and watch them grow. If more people value home above gold, this would be a merrier place”-Thorin Oakenshield, The Hobbit

-Michael Scott.

It’s a super pain to move and I hope I don’t have to do it again within the foreseeable future.

Because, y’know,

Moving sucks.

RIP Beartholomew.

Stay classy, stay safe, and, above all else,

Stay grumpy.
