I just simply sketch it on a piece of paper and take a picture on my phone really. I do the coloring with an app called Colorscape, but I’m sure there are better ones out there. Admittedly this isn’t the best or easiest way to do doodles as my sister does her art on an app on her tablet and makes it look a million times easier and better than what I can pump out, but I am a creature of habit and stubborn in my ways so 🤷🏼

I believe she uses procreate. She said that it’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it it’s amazing. I don’t think it’s free however.
