Happy Anniversary Dear

Today marks yet another year my wife hasn’t realized that she could do much better than me.

So win for ol’Grumpy Nerd Dad folks!

But in all seriousness, thank you babe for all these years of wonder and joy. I know I’m a silly person and I usually reserve this blog for jokes and silly doodles, but some things are worth a moment of seriousness.

You are by far the last person I thought I’d marry (as I’ve told you many times before). I’m a huge nerd while you’re not, I’m into fantasy and nonsense while you’re into math and computer functions, I’m artsy and emotional while you are rational and critical thinking. Basically we are polar opposites and by all definitions shouldn’t work.

And yet somehow you’re the perfect person for me.

Your rational and critical thinking help you to understand when I’m being over emotional and need a hug rather than advice, your math and science centered brain helps to compliment my artsy brain and we basically become an entire whole entity, and, although you’re still not a nerd, you do try your best to nerd out with me and I truly appreciate it. (Although I won’t ever let you forget how you cried when Kyle Ren killed Han Solo. Single nerdiest thing I’ve ever seen you do).

So long story short, you are my opposite in all the right ways and it has been a wonderful few years. I can honestly say that I’ve never been happier (despite being grumpy) and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
