Where Ya Been Grumpy Nerd Dad?!

Ah, salutations and a very howdy dowdy do dee do to each and every one of you.

I know what you’re thinking: either “why Grumpy Nerd Dad, where have you been?! You haven’t posted anything in weeks!” That or “who the heck is the Grumpy Nerd Dad? He sounds like a complete tool.”

EITHER WAY!

I apologize for my sudden absence! You see, I thought this whole quarantine thing would be FANTASTIC for my blog! I have nothing better to do than to write and draw, and the rest of you have nothing better to do than to waste time scrolling through coronavirus memes, so it’s a win-win!

However, I greatly underestimated the little green gremlin that likes to sneak into our lives known simply as the the “Eff’It Fairy!”

Look at him…all sloppy and disheveled. Why I bet he didn’t even bother putting on pants today!!!

Never heard of this little bastard? Well you’ve been acquainted many times over, let me reassure you!

You see, the Eff’It Fairy is a creature who likes to creep up on us whenever it’s most inconvenient for our apathy to take over. Got an important paper due by midnight? The Eff’It Fairy has a thing or two to say about that! Stuck at home during quarantine and have an important work-related-task to get done? The Eff’It Fairy has some ALTERNATIVE ideas for you to consider. House a hot mess and you have a million things to get done while the kids are screaming like banshees? The Eff’It Fairy cometh to whisper sweet nothings in your ear…

Is he starting to look familiar now?

Well between being stuck in the confines of my house, trying to keep the kids quiet so their momma can work upstairs, cooking/cleaning/entertaining after the little ankle biters, and also attempting to give them an education that actually matters and doesn’t consist of the all the named swords in the Tolkien universe, well let’s just say that the Eff’It Fairy has settled into my heart.

But seriously, this quarantine shenanigans has been rough. I don’t even remember what day it is anymore and I used to be a Nazi about scheduled and the necessity to keep them. I thought I’d be up there posting great and funny content for y’all to get a chuckle out of, but instead I’ve been kinda derping…

But seriously, I’m sorry to my fans that I have not been vigilant. I have come to the realization that just because my social life has been put on pause does not mean my passions should be put on pause. Besides, our little ones are having a hard time with all of this too so we owe it to them to act as normal as possible.

So do yourself a favor and just tell the Eff’It Fairy to just eff off.
