Christmas Gifts

To say that my wife and I have different expectations when it comes to buying our children gifts is a bit…well it’s an understatement. My wife has always longed for the nice and proper things for our children as to have them become mature and responsible members of society as they grow (pfffft). I…well I gave my daughter a little Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn toy to use as the three wisemen in her toy nativity.

My wife was not impressed.

Case and point when we were discussing what to get the kids for Christmas this year. Now we both love to gift. We are gifter supremers who love nothing more to gift our giftings to gift receivers. It’s fun to shop for others and we often know exactly what we want to buy our children WAY before we know what we want ourselves. That being said, we actually had an agreement this year! We wanted to get our kids one of those RC car ride alongs that all the cool kids have in the neighborhoods. Y’know, the kind that kids dangerously ride into the streets while nervous parents glare down the road ready to pounce in front of any car going above 5mph.

The good stuff!

My wife thought it would be a good present for both kids to play with and to bond with the other kids in the neighborhood, and I always wanted one growing up so it was an easy decision. The kids were going to be mobile!

We looked for a while for what we wanted and, well, that’s where things started to unravel. Y’see, what my wife found and envisioned was a pleasant family cruiser where both kids and safely stroll around the block while holding hands and sharing many of a giggle or two. It was going to be blissful. To her credit, this was what I had in mind at first…UNTIL I FOUND THIS BAD BOY!!!!!!

So basically, here was my wife’s vision for this Christmas:

Aaaand here was mine:

I mean, the tank freaking shoots real foam balls! Just imagine all the other kids riding around in their Elsa cars playing “Let It Go” on full blast when my cool kids burst into the scene in a freaking tank shooting foam balls at all the…er…okay well perhaps she has a point…

Still, a man can dream, right?

Happy holidays to you and yours and I will be back next week for another Christmas related post. So, until next time my merry grumps, stay classy, stay safe, and, above all else,

Stay grumpy.
